Contraindications

ConditionSeverityNote
Cardiovascular
cardiovascular diseaserelative

Pre-existing cardiovascular disease, hypertension, or cardiac arrhythmias represent relative contraindications. One fatality involved cerebral hemorrhage.

Neurological
epilepsyrelative

Epilepsy and other seizure disorders represent a relative contraindication. Seizures were documented in at least one 2C-T-7-associated fatality (with MDMA co-ingestion). MAO inhibitory activity may further contribute to seizure risk.

Psychiatric
psychotic disordersabsolute

Personal or family history of psychotic disorders (schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder) is an absolute contraindication. 5-HT₂A agonists can precipitate acute psychosis or destabilise latent psychotic illness.

bipolar disorderabsolute

Bipolar disorder is an absolute contraindication due to risk of manic episode precipitation and the dangerous interaction between 2C-T-7 and lithium.

Hepatic
hepatic impairmentrelative

Hepatic impairment is a relative contraindication. CYP2D6-mediated metabolism occurs in the liver, and impairment may alter the compound's pharmacokinetic profile.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
pregnancy and breastfeedingabsolute

Pregnancy and breastfeeding are absolute contraindications. No reproductive or developmental safety data exist for 2C-T-7.

Age
adolescencerelative

Adolescence is a relative contraindication. No safety data exist for minors. One documented fatality involved a 17-year-old.

Other
MAO inhibitor medicationsabsolute

Concurrent use of any MAO inhibitor (phenelzine, tranylcypromine, selegiline, moclobemide, harmine/harmaline) is absolutely contraindicated.

MDMAabsolute

Concurrent MDMA use is absolutely contraindicated. Two of three documented fatalities involved MDMA co-ingestion.

serotonergic medicationsrelative

Concurrent use of SSRIs, SNRIs, tramadol, linezolid, or dextromethorphan represents a relative contraindication due to serotonin syndrome risk.
