Contribute

Six ways to add to the reference, each reviewed by a human editor before it publishes.

6 pathways15 guidelines

How to contribute

•Submit correctionsSpot an error in dosage, duration, or interaction data? Flag it for review.
•Add citationsLink claims to PubMed, DOI, or established harm reduction sources.
•Write experience reportsShare first-person accounts to help others understand substance effects.
•Write field reportsLong-form analytical essays grounded in observation across many sessions.
•Improve descriptionsClarify, expand, or refine substance summaries and effect descriptions.
•Report issuesFile bugs, suggest features, or flag content concerns — use the on-site suggest-a-correction links or email contact@psychedex.org.

Content standards

•All substance information must be backed by citations (PubMed, DOI, or established harm reduction sources)
•Use neutral, clinical language — no promotion or glorification of substance use
•Dosage and interaction data must be verified against at least two independent sources
•Report uncertainty honestly. Unknown interactions should be marked as uncertain, not omitted
•Include harm reduction context alongside all dosage and route-of-administration information

Community conduct

•Treat all community members with respect regardless of their relationship to substances
•No sourcing, vendor discussion, or market links
•No medical advice — Psychedex is informational, not clinical
•Report inaccurate or dangerous information immediately
•Moderator decisions are final. Appeals can be submitted via email (contact@psychedex.org)

The Content Policy is the canonical statement of what Psychedex publishes and never hosts.

Review process

All contributions go through human review before publication. AI assists with drafting and fact-checking, but a human moderator approves every change. This ensures accuracy and prevents misinformation.

Review typically takes 1–3 days. Contributions that include citations are prioritised.

Experience reports

•Reports must describe personal experiences only — no hearsay or fiction
•Include substance, dose, route of administration, and approximate timeline
•No identifying information about third parties
•Honest reporting of negative experiences is as valuable as positive ones
•Reports involving dangerous combinations must include a harm reduction note

Enforcement

Violations are handled on a case-by-case basis. Consequences range from content removal to permanent account suspension. Repeated or severe violations (e.g. posting sourcing info or deliberately inaccurate safety data) result in immediate suspension.
