ETH-LAD

Individuals with significant cardiovascular disease (hypertension, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease) face elevated risk from transient hemodynamic stress. Effects are expected to be mild and transient in healthy individuals.

Epilepsy and seizure disorders represent a relative contraindication. The seizure threshold reduction is believed to be mild at typical doses but may become clinically significant in predisposed individuals or at high doses.

Personal or family history of psychotic disorders or schizophrenia is an absolute contraindication for all serotonergic psychedelics, including ETH-LAD. The 5-HT2A agonist mechanism can destabilize vulnerable neural circuits involved in reality testing.

Bipolar disorder (Type I and II) is an absolute contraindication. Risk of triggering manic or mixed episodes.

Pregnancy is an absolute contraindication. The ergoline scaffold has known uterotonic activity, and no reproductive toxicology data exist for ETH-LAD.

Concurrent lithium use is an absolute contraindication. Case reports of seizures and severe adverse reactions with LSD + lithium combinations exist in the literature.

Concurrent use of MAOIs with ETH-LAD carries risk of serotonin syndrome — a potentially life-threatening condition characterized by hyperthermia, neuromuscular hyperactivity, and altered mental status.
