Transient blood pressure and heart rate elevation demonstrated for 2C-B at therapeutic doses. 2C-C expected to produce similar cardiovascular stress. Higher absolute doses required for 2C-C may increase total sympathomimetic burden.

Seizures reported in 2C drug class intoxication presentations. Individuals with epilepsy or other seizure disorders face elevated risk.

All 5-HT2A agonist psychedelics carry absolute contraindication in personal history of psychotic disorders. Risk of acute psychosis precipitation, prolonged psychotic episodes, or permanent destabilization.

Risk of manic episode induction. Relative contraindication — risk varies with mood stability, medication status, and bipolar subtype.

No 2C-C-specific hepatic data. Structural analogy with 2C-B suggests hepatic metabolism is primary. Significant hepatic impairment may alter drug exposure unpredictably.

Absolute contraindication in pregnancy and breastfeeding due to absence of safety data and theoretical risk from serotonergic mechanism during development.

Concurrent use of MAO inhibitors (including moclobemide, phenelzine, tranylcypromine, selegiline, and ayahuasca/harmine) with 2C-C is contraindicated. Effects may be dangerously potentiated in both intensity and duration.

Concurrent lithium carbonate use is contraindicated with 2C-C and all serotonergic psychedelics based on community case reports of seizures.
