Contraindications

Cardiovascular

  • cardiovascular diseaseabsolute

Any significant cardiovascular disease — including coronary artery disease, heart failure, uncontrolled hypertension, and arrhythmias — is an absolute contraindication due to the compound's potent vasoconstrictive and sympathomimetic effects.

Neurological

  • epilepsyabsolute

Epilepsy or any seizure disorder is an absolute contraindication. Seizures are among the most common serious adverse events in NBOMe intoxication and can trigger rhabdomyolysis and hyperthermia.

Psychiatric

  • psychotic disordersabsolute

Personal or family history of psychotic spectrum disorders (schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, brief psychotic disorder) is an absolute contraindication. Prolonged psychotic episodes lasting days have been documented with NBOMe class compounds.

  • bipolar disorderabsolute

Bipolar disorder (type I or II) is an absolute contraindication due to risk of triggering manic episodes or psychotic features.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

  • pregnancyabsolute

Pregnancy is an absolute contraindication. No reproductive safety data exist, and the compound's vasoconstrictive and sympathomimetic effects pose theoretical risk to placental circulation.

Other

  • concurrent serotonergic medicationsabsolute

Concurrent use of any serotonergic medication (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, tramadol, triptans) is absolutely contraindicated due to serotonin syndrome risk.

  • concurrent stimulant useabsolute

Concurrent stimulant use (cocaine, amphetamines, cathinones) is absolutely contraindicated due to additive cardiovascular toxicity.
