Mescaline: planning around a twelve-hour day
Setting & intention — A full free day at home with the following morning also kept clear. The duration was the whole reason for the planning: I treated it like scheduling a long hike, not an evening.
Preparation — Took it early — before ten in the morning — so the tail would land in the evening instead of at three a.m. Light breakfast, water and simple food ready for later, and a friend aware of my plans who checked in by text twice.
Timeline — Long, gentle onset with about an hour of queasiness I'd been warned to expect; sipping ginger tea and staying still helped more than fighting it. From hour three onward it settled into something spacious and warm-toned — less visual drama than clarity and patience, with colors carrying more weight than usual. The plateau went on for hours without demanding anything. I ate a little at hour eight, which grounded the tail nicely. Fully down by evening, tired in a pleasant way.
Afterward — Slept well and woke up ordinary. The empty next morning turned out to be unnecessary, but knowing it was there removed the only time pressure the day could have had.
What I'd note — With long-duration substances the dose is only half the decision; the other half is the clock. Taking it early, keeping the next morning free, and having food ready were what made twelve hours feel unhurried. The early nausea is much easier when you know it's a phase with an end.
