anxiety, thought loops
This illustrates the ideal format for an experience report. It is not a real first-person experience report.
LSD with a sitter: a difficult middle stretch
Setting & intention — At home with a sober friend who agreed to sit for the day. I'd set aside the full day and the evening; my intention was open-ended rather than aimed at anything specific.
Preparation — Tested the tab with a reagent kit, ate a normal breakfast a few hours before, and agreed on a signal with my sitter: if I said I wanted company, they'd just sit nearby without needing conversation.
Timeline — Onset around fifty minutes, gentle for the first two hours. Around hour three I got caught in a repeating loop about a work situation — the same worry circling with more intensity each pass. I told my sitter, who reminded me we'd planned for this; we changed rooms and put on instrumental music, and within half an hour the loop lost its grip. The back half of the experience was quieter, mostly visual softness and long stretches of just sitting.
Afterward — Slept later than usual, felt slightly worn the next day. The looping topic turned out to be worth the attention once I could think about it normally.
What I'd note — The duration is the real commitment; twelve hours is long when three of them are hard. Having a person there mattered less for what they did than for what I didn't have to manage alone. Changing the room genuinely changed the experience.
