Volumetric Dosing Calculator

For substances active at very low doses (below 5mg), milligram scales are not precise enough. Dissolve a known quantity in a measured liquid volume to enable accurate sub-milligram dosing.

solution preparation

ml
example

10 mg of substance dissolved in 10 ml of distilled water = 1 mg/ml

To measure a 0.5 mg dose, draw 0.5 ml with an oral syringe.

This solution provides 20 doses of 0.5 mg each.

important notes

–This calculator performs simple arithmetic on the values you enter. It does not validate whether your inputs are safe or appropriate for any substance.
–Verify that your substance is fully soluble in your chosen solvent. Undissolved material means uneven dosing.
–Common solvents: distilled water (most substances), propylene glycol (for water-insoluble compounds), ethanol (for some alkaloids). Research solubility for your specific substance.
–Store solutions in amber glass bottles, labeled with: substance name, concentration (mg/ml or µg/ml), date prepared, and solvent used.
–Use an oral syringe (not a kitchen spoon) to measure doses from the solution. Syringes are accurate to 0.1ml.
–Shake the solution gently before each use to ensure even distribution.
–Solutions degrade over time. Prepare fresh solutions regularly and discard old ones.
–This tool does not recommend doses. Consult the substance page for published dose ranges and always start low.
